a new beginning ...

the past few years have been ones of transition and transformation in many aspects of my life ... and that is on top of the pandemic!  my art has been no different ... i had dabbled in acrylics, pencil drawings and digital illustration previously and when i finally tried oil, i fell in love with the smooth medium.  i created a new body of works with a new style and colour palette and from painting to painting just followed my imagination and whatever thoughts i was trying to portray much more freely than i had ever before with very little care for how they might be perceived ... it felt liberating!  with this i thought it was appropriate to start a new blog on this new website ... below is a new coat of arms i designed and painted representing "house of honeydew" ... why a coat of arms you ask?  i was always fascinated with coat of arms and the symbols and intricate designs that seemed to represent so much history ... creating this felt like a new beginning ...
